Five floors, levelled and polished to a finished floor
Zara's New Bond Street flagship closed in January 2026 for a full refurbishment, and every floor from the basement to level 3, each around 1,000m², needed levelling and a polished cementitious finish before it reopened. On most floors we built up the slab with Weberfloor 4360 and 4600, primed it, and laid a 9–10mm topping of Weberfloor 4630 Industry Lite, the finish Zara specifies, which was then diamond-polished with our partner Avantgarde Tiling. Level 2 was the hardest: the raised access floor came out and we installed a floating build-up of around 165mm over XPS insulation, including around the escalator void, using mesh and saw cuts to control cracking. Deliveries were limited to an overnight window, much of the work ran on night shifts, and the store reopened on programme on 4 June 2026.
A polished floor is only as good as what's under it
Most of the work on a polished floor is invisible. Get the levels, the build-up and the movement control right underneath, and the 10mm you actually see takes care of itself.
Next projects.
