High-End Residential Screed, Kensington, London
A comprehensive refurbishment and extension project was carried out in the prestigious London borough of Kensington. This five-storey private residence, known for its architectural significance, was remodelled to improve its functionality and aesthetics. Forcia, a long-standing client, commissioned Screed Works to supply the screed package required to make the refurbishment a success.
The densely built-up residential area presented significant logistical challenges for the works, including the removal of car parking spaces for the delivery of materials and access to machinery. Screed Works and Forcia carefully planned the delivery of materials and access to machinery, overcoming the constraints imposed by the location of the site.
The project involved intricate screed work in the basement, ground and first floors, utilising specialist materials and techniques with a high degree of precision to meet the specific thickness and material composition requirements in the different areas of the building.
The screed in the basement was a 4-day quick-dry sand-cement screed, reinforced with D49 grids to support the new basement structure. The ground floor screed was constructed using WeberFloor 4310 fibre self levelling screed to achieve the limited depths.
